From the Evenementenhal of “De Krim” near De Cocksdorp, I played a marathon set of 6 hours during the KiKa marathon on Texel (A Dutch island in the Wadden Sea).
There were several starts for the distances 42, 21, 10 and 5 km. Each group received its own warm-up and then a festive starting shot. And at the finish I was also present again to give a push for the last steps.
Every year this edition is the most special one! Because it gets dark early in December, all runners run with LED lights. One runner even more lights than the other. The atmosphere of hundreds of runners and countless bright spots everywhere is great!
And of course, this time too a nice amount of money was collected, which is spent on research. Childhood cancer must be curable!
BastiQ is the resident DJ for Run for KiKa (Stichting Kinderen Kankervrij). This time at the Ouderkerkerplas, near Amsterdam.
Run for KiKa has raised today: 64,311 euros

KiKa (Dutch for: Stichting Kinderen Kankervrij) is a charity organization against childhood cancer. Their goal is to increase the chance of healing from 75 to 95%. A lot of money is needed for research and Run for KiKa helps with that.

A record amount of 🎉 168.160,98 euro 🎉 was collected during the Run 🏃♀️🏃♂️ for KiKa! In total, more than 1250 runners ran for charity: scientific research against child cancer.
