Seventeen children’s heroes were put in the spotlight on Friday, November 17, 2017 during the first Dutch National Children’s Heroes Day at Madurodam, The Hague. Their names were immortalized in the bronze statue of George Maduro. Madurodam is named after this war hero of the Second World War. The National Children’s Heroes Day is part of the National Heroes Day, an initiative of the Carnegie Heldenfonds Foundation.
